Castel di Ieri
The only painting I did today was walls. Progress is steady and good. I bought some sheets at the market for a single bed which we are using for a sofa in the big room. It looks great but it is better not to sit on it.
After the rain, we walked to Castel di Ieri in the cool, after rain, air. We had caffe and gelato and spoke with the Italian woman from Canada who has a restaurant there: Jim’s friend from last year. The outdoor area has a big, wood fired oven where they cook the regional dish: lamb kabas.
Today was market day. There was a look of rain and not as many vendors were there. We were passing through on our way to the supermarcato when Jim excitedly said, “LOOK’. There in the trash was another 50 liter wine bottle complete with basket and braided rope intact. He was sorry he mentioned it when I insisted on taking it home. After walking home with the giant bottle, which Jim carried, we went back to the supermarcato and then to the market. We made it home just before the down pour.
The name of the neighboring village is usually written: Castel di Ieri
