Heartbeat

I found this quote on Jessie’s facebook.

I heard babies sometimes die in their sleep.
So at night, when my parents went to bed, I’d put on my karate kid kimono and sneak into her room to guard her heartbeat.

How did the heartbeat thieves find our Annie? We were all so vigilant. In the end we were undone by denial that something was wrong. Or rather I was. I will take the hit for that. I think of them both everyday. Jessie is in Korea and having a great time. What a place to go. So exotic and a chance to be with her sister, Karnnadda in Thailand. It is exciting times for her.
